Four Countries Experience

Drielandenpunt - Vaals, The Netherlands

Interactive Technology at the Heart of the Maze

For the Drielandenpunt Labyrinth in Vaals, Lagotronics Projects provided the interactive technology for the Vierlandenpunt Experience, in collaboration with designer Jora Vision. This immersive journey invites visitors to embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of the lost fourth country, Amikejo. Equipped with a personalized passport, participants navigate through a maze, engaging with various interactive challenges and puzzles along the way.

Technology and Innovation

Lagotronics Projects delivered:

  • Scan Points: Strategically placed throughout the labyrinth, these stations allow visitors to collect points and track their progress.
  • Interactive Devices: Visitors engage with puzzles and challenges using buttons and sensors integrated into the environment.
  • Audio Logs and Effects: Real-time audio cues and sound effects enhance the immersive experience, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Score Tracking: A central hall-of-fame displays the achievements of visitors, encouraging friendly competition and repeat visits.

This integration of technology transforms the traditional maze into a dynamic, interactive adventure, blending physical exploration with digital interaction.

Interactive Games Overview

The Vierlandenpunt Experience features a variety of interactive games:

  • Four Countries in Sight: Visitors choose a route (bronze, silver, or gold) and solve location-based puzzles to advance.
  • On the Line: A telephone and border post puzzle requiring visitors to contact other phones within the labyrinth, completing tasks in sequence to earn rewards.
  • Safe Crack: A safe-cracking game where visitors solve puzzles and calculate codes to unlock safes and scan points.
  • Smuggling Path: A skill-based route with obstacles where visitors collect scan points while navigating through the “border” in a challenging parcours.
  • Smuggled Goods: A cooperative game where visitors locate and handle smuggled items correctly, guided by audio logs and interactive light cues.
  • Post Kiosk: Visitors search for Amikejo stamps on a large wall and activate scan points by finding the correct stamps.
  • Parcel Game: Inside a traditional parcel sorting cabinet, visitors solve puzzles and scan the correct compartments to collect points. Difficulty increases with each level.

Every visit becomes a unique adventure, with instant feedback and a hall-of-fame display of scores at the end.
