Dino Mission

Adventure Valley - Durbuy, Belgium

A Time Travel Adventure

This interactive walkthrough experience, developed by Lagotronics Projects, takes you back to the year 1877, where you search for dinosaurs and the time-traveling paleontologist Jeanne Dollo.

Visitors are guided by paleontologists Sofia and Arthur, who share the tale of Jeanne Dollo, an adventurer and paleontologist who invented a time machine in 1877 and mysteriously disappeared. Your mission is to follow her trail through Dino Mission, searching for fossils, relics, and clues to track her down.

But beware! Time is not the only danger. After stepping through the time portal, you’ll find yourself not only among fossils but also surrounded by living dinosaurs that have arrived here through the portal.

Interactive RFID Tags and Minigames

Throughout the course, 28 RFID readers are installed across both canyons, allowing interaction with key objects like fossils and relics. Every item you find and tag is recorded on a central scoreboard, tracked by Sofia and Arthur back at the institute.

The valley also features various minigames. One game involves scanning dinosaur eggs with 8 special cameras to see what’s inside. These interactive minigames, developed by Lagotronics Projects, make you feel like a real paleontologist as you solve puzzles, piece together dinosaur skeletons, and uncover hidden objects.

Audio System and Custom Soundtrack

The audio system in Dino Mission plays a crucial role in creating a fully immersive experience. Lagotronics Projects has developed a custom soundtrack that plays throughout the attraction and dynamically responds to visitors’ actions. Specially placed outdoor speakers are positioned strategically along the route.

The soundtrack is tailored to different sections of the valley, intensifying and becoming more ominous as visitors venture deeper into the canyon.

Your journey through the canyon culminates in an exciting finale inside a Cave, where you finally encounter Jeanne Dollo via an impressive Pepper’s Ghost effect. As Jeanne recounts her gripping story from 1877, the atmosphere is heightened by the distant roar of a T-Rex, signaling the urgent need to escape.

At the end of your adventure, the collective efforts of the group are rewarded with a central score, tracking all the points gathered through RFID tags and minigames. The scores are calculated for each group and determine which of the three unique endings you will experience.
