Little Dino Trail

Legoland California - Carlsbad, California

A Journey of Discovery and Interaction

Riders are immersed in the heart of the adventure from the moment they step aboard. Lagotronics Projects delivered an Interactive Vehicle System, equipped with 12 cabinets and 24 cameras. These specialized cameras, custom-built to resemble the familiar LEGO aesthetic, are mounted inside each vehicle. These cameras are not just for show—they allow riders to “photograph” the hidden DUPLO® dinosaurs throughout the trail. Framed as a fun game of hide-and-seek, the cameras activate sensors positioned along the route, triggering animations and sound effects from the dinosaurs, making each discovery a thrilling moment.

Seamless Engineering for Maximum Fun

Behind the fun and excitement lies Lagotronics Projects’ technical expertise. Our team handled all aspects of software development, engineering, project management, and technical documentation, ensuring that this interactive attraction was not only fun but also highly reliable.

Custom LEGO® Camera Design

A standout feature of the ride is the Custom LEGO® Camera Design. These cameras, seamlessly integrated into the vehicle system, allow riders to interact with their surroundings by “capturing” the DUPLO® dinosaurs and scoring points in the process. Inspired by LEGO’s playful design language, these cameras add a layer of immersion, making guests feel like they’re part of the action.

A Collaborative Effort

The system’s installation was completed in collaboration with Metallbau Emmeln in Germany, where the vehicle equipment was expertly fitted before being delivered to LEGOLAND California. We ensured that the ride delivers a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

This interactive ride is more than just a journey through a colorful world – it’s an opportunity for guests to play, compete, and engage in a dynamic and ever-evolving adventure. With cutting-edge technology and playful design, the DUPLO® Little Dino Trail is set to become a favorite for young families at LEGOLAND California.
