Wickie the Battle is a thrilling, interactive water splash ride that immerses guests in the world of Vic the Viking. Following its major success at Plopsaland De Panne (Belgium), this popular attraction is now also featured at Majaland Kownaty (Poland). Lagotronics Projects provided the complete interactive technology for both parks.
The Challenge: From Static Ride to Interactive Experience
The primary goal for the ride upgrade at Plopsaland De Panne was to elevate the guest experience to a higher level. At Majaland Kownaty, the attraction was installed as the centerpiece of the new “Wickieland” zone. The core of both projects revolves around gameplay: can the visitors defeat the mean Vikings?
Interactive Gameplay and Special Effects
The water splash ride consists of eight different interactive scenes. During the boat ride, guests use manually operated water shooters to hit 16 different targets.
Once a target is successfully hit, surprising effects are triggered instantly:
Animatronics: Vikings and objects suddenly spring to life.
Water Effects: Geysers erupt and unexpected water jets spray back toward the boats.
Special Effects: Flames appear on the water’s surface for added spectacle.
Technical Expertise
Lagotronics Projects supplied and installed the complete interactive systems. The focus was on high target accuracy and seamless integration of AV technology with the ride’s mechanical elements. The result is a durable outdoor attraction that encourages repeat visits, as players strive to improve their scores and discover new effects.
